| "In
Wales there are jewels to gather, but with the eye only."
Established as country house accommodation
since 1991, we pride ourselves with having created a little
piece of Welsh heaven that would be difficult to emulate
by any other hospitality provider in Snowdonia.
As
a luxury five star highly commended gold award winning country
house operating in the guest house designated category in
Betws-y-Coed, we can be found listed amongst the finest hotels
in Wales, our private Snowdonian hideaway offers unique, quiet,
intimate and luxury accommodation, and a gourmet sanctuary
for the discerning traveller, who seeks the ultimate of holidays
in Wales.
Independent
and family owned the consistent hand of the owners can be
felt at all times; while serving breakfast; welcoming guests
and being a presence in the restaurant in the evening, we
offer a special kind of North Wales holiday experience suitable
for those wishing to stay in a small boutique country house
in Snowdonia. Children are also welcome, however we
do have a minimum age restriction of 12 years.
Unlike many other country houses
in Wales, the traditional 17th century Welsh stone exterior
belies, what lies within, for once inside the entranceway
opens into a stunning sequence of intimate, immaculately
designed rooms, where a fusion of traditional and contemporary
style is allied with simplicity.
Tan-y-Foel
means 'house under the hillside,' and perfectly describes
the locality of our award winning holiday accommodation
in Wales, perched 750ft above sea level, nestling amongst
tree covered hills, with spectacular sweeping views of the
Conwy Valley and Snowdonia National Park we provide the
idyllic quiet setting well away from noisy main roads and
high traffic areas, making us just perfect for that Snowdonia
weekend break.
Whilst walking in North Wales you
can explore the breathtaking scenery as well as enjoy great
days out visiting the CADW castles of Snowdonia at Conwy,
Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Harlech. The National Trust places
to visit include Chirk Castle, Erddig, Bodnant Gardens,
Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd.
Enjoy horse riding at nearby Gwydir
Stables Ltd www.horse-riding-wales.co.uk or for nature lovers
bird-watching at Conwy RSPB bird reserve.
For arts and entertainment choose
from the North Wales Theatre or Oriel Mostyn Gallery, Llandudno
or the Royal Cambrian Gallery, Conwy.
For urbanites, Chester is only one
hour away and another thirty minutes from there you will
find yourself in the shopping mecca of Manchester.
Alternatively, for those who wish
to leave the car keys behind you can walk or cycle directly
from Tan-y-Foel Country House.
