can't remember if we sent a thank you before but in
case we didn't and apologies if repetition.
We
thoroughly enjoyed being welcomed into your home -
for that is what it felt like; the room was delightful,
well designed and had lovely views. Neither
of us can remember when we last enjoyed dining so
much - every course of every meal was a treat, and
I'm sure we put pounds on.
We
met some very pleasant fellow guests in a very relaxed
atmosphere. Our traveling around N Wales (which
we love) was fun, seeing some old places and some
new and even a ride on the Welsh Highland Railway,
and a walk part way up Snowdon!

want to thank you so much for our delightful stay
at Tan-y-Foel. Everything was simply wonderful.
After
coming home, I began to think about your mother's
wonderful meals. Chez Panisse is a restaurant
in the Bay Area that receives many accolades and is
credited by some as being ground zero for the beginning
of California cuisine back in the 70's. It's
founder, Alice Waters, is a major presence in the
foodie scene in the U.S. It has received one
Michelin star and scores highly in the Zagat guide.
It has the usual battery slicers, dicers, line cooks,
sommeliers, executive chefs, sous chefs, yadda, yadda,
yadda; and it does serve some wonderful meals.
But...you have no choice. It is a set menu;
and if you do not want guinea hen or sand dabs the
night you are there, too bad.
Then
I thought about your mother in her kitchen turning
out exquisite meals with two choices for the starter,
main course and dessert, not to mention the wealth
of choices at breakfast, and I am simply awed.
And I was always tempted by both options in each course.
The execution was superb. I think I shall remember
the meals at Tan-y-Foel longer than the train ride
up Mt Snowdon or the gardens at Bodnant. In
addition Ed - who it quite knowledgeable about wine
- was very impressed by your wine list. Thanks

beginning to end. You made us feel very special,

Thank you all for making our stay so unique and memorable.
We needed a total break from business before starting 'the silly season'.
We had not expected such incredibly high standards at all levels.
The location, decor, service and of course the cuisine made it such a wonderful break.
We shall be back in the new year but in the mean time enjoy your well deserved holiday.
